The Queen Has Arrived

Okay so I finally got around to watching the new episode of True Blood, "Frenzy" and while the episode in general did not disappoint I was a little disappointed with the storyline and dialog written for Evan Rachel Wood as Queen Sophie-Anne. I mean come on, you have a major talent on your hands and all you can do with her is give her a character that's a total cliche? The cussing and sexual innuendos sounded more like a unevolved teenage girl than an unevolved vampire queen. I expected a little more class. Woods performance in general was great and her acting ability certainly made her scenes genuine enough but ultimately I think it was the writers that failed her character and the fans! I did like the twist with her lover being Sookies cousin, which was actually quiet clever and I thought the Yahtzee game thing was just hilarious. Still they could have gone deeper and developed her character more, hopefully in the third season they'll find the time to do that. The episode as a whole was great and the cliff hangers as usual have me beyond anxious for the finale but If I know True Blood then I really don't see a hell of a lot of closure in the next episode, which means in two weeks all us True Blood fans might be faced with the biggest and baddest cliff hanger yet! Ahh if onlt our emotions did work like this ^

The Professional

The Professional or Leon is one of my favorite movies and has been since before I could even spell professional and coming from someone who's favorite movie as a child was Terminator 2 Judgement day it's really not that weird. Natalie's character in the film seems wise yet wounded beyond her years and It's my second favorite movie of hers, after of course Closer:
Which is the only movie I can tolerate Jude Law in. Clive Owen on the other hand is rancid with perfection in the movie and the story in it's self is one everyone can relate to. But back to Leon... If you haven't seen it you must! If you have then you should watch it again because it's one of those movies that stays with you, not in some profound way but it does have it's moments.
Some really funny art work I found on google depicting the main characters and their beloved milk and plant!

World Order

Street Art

I'm amazed and inspired.
If only Harold had been born in 2008 and had a can of purple spray paint...

Riverboat Birthday

So the 23rd was my mothers birthday and I took her on a BB Riverboat dinner cruise on the Ohio river. It's was a really cool experience I must say! We had a less than desirable dinner but my mom liked it enough and the highlight was really the amazing view and boat ride. I ran out of batteries about an hour in so thankfully the gift shop sold them and I was able to get these amazing twilight pictures! It was so beautiful there in the moment and alas these photos don't quite capture the simple beauty of that night! I also got my mom a keyboard that you can plug headphones into lol so I think she had a nice quiet birthday compared to last year. My objective is to give her a simple, quiet birthday every other year and in between those years throw her a big, loud, embarrassing party. So next year she better watch out ;)

Idols & Divas

I'm pretty excited to see VH1 DIVAS this year the line up seems pretty cool aside from Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus... that just don't measure up in my opinion but oh well. Adele and Kelly are looking so fierce in these promos and I just LOVE the background design and graphics! And the always adorable Kelly Osbourne looks even more adorable in the above pic on her way to rehearse for Dancing with the Stars. She's the only contestant on the show I'm interested in seeing dance but not enough to actually watch the show! Thank god for youtube!
On to Kristen Dunst whom I'll admit was my favorite actress as a teen due to her films like Drop Dead Gorgeous, The Virgin Suicides and I'll admit Bring It On. As of late though girl has been looking a washed out mess! When I saw this pick I couldn't help but smile! She looks so cute and even if the outfit is WAY over the top I still prefer it over just about everything else she's been seen wearing lately!

Acid Afterthought

So apparently in the 1950's the government experimented with LSD... not really they just had other people experiment with them and watched lolz but the cool thing is they gave their Ginnie pigs an "activity box" to test their drugged out art skills and an recorded them. The link below shows you the art work done at different periods of time while on LSD it's pretty interesting!
Images 6, 7 & 8 are the coolest In my opinion! Acid Afterthought!

The Naughty Little Sister

Do you see why I love her? If there ever was a celebrity I could make myself look like it would be her... only a few inches taller! Essentially she is the opposite of me in every way, aside from the brunette locks. Her character Effy on Skins is a beautifully tortured enigma.
She's featured in the new issue of Love Magazine along with Taylor Momsen whom I'll post about later. You can Read Kaya Scodelario's article at these two links just click on the image to enlarge it. I was so sad to read that yet again after the 4th season of skins the entire cast along with Effy will be replaced! Damn those show creators for making us fall for these charcters and then ripping them out from under us every freaking 2 years!

Deyn & Moss At Their Best

That Agyness sure can give good face! An apparently so can Kate Moss which I though was near impossible but this Just Cavalli shoot is freaking HOT! Who is that Delicious man candy in all these photos?

New Music In My View

I don't consider myself a music expert but I'm secure enough in my own taste to know the difference between unusual music that's ahead of it's time and just plain bad music. Obviously people disagree because one of the worst songs to come out in the last few years is the #1 song in not only America but the UK as well. You may have heard the song by the Black Eyed Peas on the radio shortly before you (hopefully to save yourself) changed the station called "I gotta (BAD) Feeling". It's horrendous like a tie die shirt design of vomit and fecal matter. I can not believe people like this song! It's like when the taco bell dog movie was number one at the box office! An now it's spreading faster than H1N1 to other countries. I just pray there is a cure for all those infected before it's too late!
Moving on to better, albeit unusual music that I feel is way more emotional and creative...
You will fall in love with them, Blitzen Trapper are the real deal!

Another lovely Kings of Leon song:

Free Energy... <3>

Lightning Dust... It was hard to pick just one to share with you! Ultimately this one won it's so subtle and soothing like a warm bath you just melt into the music!

I could go on and on with the music I'm loving and listening to right now but sometimes too much of a good thing all at once can be overwhelming so I'll leave you with this: http://www.last.fm/music/King+Britt/_/New+World+In+My+View+%28Album+Version%29?autostart a link to hear the full song for free that I couldn't find on YouTube or google, that was featured at the end of the latest true blood episode called New World In My View by King Britt... it's beautiful!

Ripping Of Skins

I read on Perez Hilton today that MTV recently got the rights to make a US version of my favorite teen oriented show SKINS. I'm feeling mixed emotions about this even though I knew it was only a matter of time before Hollywood decided to rip it off. It could be good if they don't try to clean the show up, cause what makes Skins so awesome is it's realistic depiction of teenagers! However the fact that MTV is the one behind this has me thinking this could get ugly. I'll most definitely tune in for the first episode to give it a fair shot but nothing will ever compare to the original skins cast and even the 3rd season skins cast. British people are just more eccentric and Americas... no offense to my own kind lolz but Americans in general are too into being like everyone else. Where I feel like other countries embrace individuality, Americans like them cookie cutter molds. Any way I guess this US Skins show is a good thing it just might turn out more like the real world meets the hills instead of what skins really is all about.
This photo below is just so cute and goofy I love and miss the original cast!

All That We See Or Seem

~Is But A Dream Within A Dream~
Thanks to http://slackerchic.blogspot.com for turning me on to Flaunt magazine and the lovely photo shoot they did with Evan Rachel Wood for their August issue! I'm in complete awe of Evan, she's a phenomenal actress and I can't say that enough because of all the jealous haters! Watch the link below for an adorable and insightful video shot at the cover shoot:

When I watched the clip I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Poe tattoo she has on her back was from one of my most beloved Poe poems and that the specific verse she had tattooed was MY favorite as well. For a brief moment I felt as if we were truly kindred spirits! Lame I know but what can I say... I'm just a straight chick with understandable admiration and unexplainable girl crush on Evan Rachel Wood and well It made my day!

Young Smoke

~I once knew a beautiful yet troubled boy, his eyes were electric hazel and his hair was as soft as silk but his aura smelled of ashes and his lips tasted of them too~
Smoking can look sexy the way one holds the cigarette and draws on it but the smell and the taste are too grotesque for words. I'll admit in my earlier youth I smoked and still on very rare occasion will have a cigarette but it's the most unattractive habit and while it may look alluring in photographs it's truly not a trait associated with beauty!
