My all time favorite show will always and forever be Six Feet Under. I've watched the majority of the episodes before but I've only just got around to buying the seasons on DVD for my personal collection. I just got my Season 2 DVD box set in the mail today and I'm already two episodes in. The show is a depressive paradox of life and death. I could go on and on but I won't It's to personal and too complicated. It is simply a one of a kind dramedy that's stole my heart. My two favorite charcters are Michael C. Hall &Lauren Ambrose my long lost twin!
I've been addicted to true blood for some time now, I saw the first episode when it first aired and then didn't see the rest of the season till around the time the finale aired. Since then I've seen all of season one twice now and the second season is only getting bigger and better, with the cliff hangers leaving me more and more on the edge of my seat. Then today I got on ew.com to check out some comic-con links and I discovered that my favorite actress and girl crush Evan Rachel Wood was joining the cast for at least two episodes and I almost died and went to heaven from my excitement, it's like taking two of my favorite things and mixing them together so perfectly it doesn't seem real. I love that Evan is consistently choosing interesting and creative acting projects, you just don't know what this girl will do next... all you know is it's bound to be brilliant. Alan Ball the True Blood creator has me as a fan for life due to his other creation that IS the best show in the history of Dramatic Television: Six Feet Under. To this day I feel it is the only show that has ever ended in a significant way that gave it's dedicated audience a proper burial so to speak. I related more so than I care to mention with the character of Claire Fisher and the show will forever hold a place in my heart. Okay back to True Blood, Alan Ball is a genius and him casting Evan Rachel Wood on the show proves it. It's going to be absolute torture having to wait each week until her debut on the show and lord knows what I'll do when the seasons over. All I know is this is the best news I've gotten since I found out my diploma was in the mail!
These are some beautiful shots of Evan form what I believe is Blackbook magazines August 2009 cover shoot with the 21 year old starlet. I for one love her Gothic princess look, and think she is the only actress working today that I can say I loved every movie she's ever made, excluding Little Secrets but lets be honest it still wasn't that bad. I also read in the article that she loves Edgar Allen Poe and has a verse of his tattooed on her back. All the more reason to bow down to the best actress of my generation!
I've had a busy weekend and I've got a lot of things I want to talk about! First off I have to mention a movie I have been anticipating for almost a year now! I still have to wait until September for it to come out which sucks, but I've waited this long! It's called Gamer and I've been watching the updates on imdb.com for ages now. The Idea of it alone sounds wicked and I suck hard at all video games so it's not exactly something I consider myself interested in but this movie is going to be amazing I just know it. It stars the brilliant chameleon Michael C. Hall whom you'll know from Dexter and hopefully Six Feet Under (Best show ever!) as well as Gerard Butler and Alison Lohman among others. The preview gets me so freaking amped check it out:
There is something about Michael C. Hall...
That's so appealing...
Ashley Greene (above) plays Alice in the movie twilight and you may or may not have been troubled by this but when I saw the movie I couldn't help thinking two things, the first being wow you are perfect for this role both in appearance and personality and the second being where have I seen you? I knew I'd recognized her from some other movie and finally it hit me! She was in Boogie Nights!!!!!! Sorry this is the best picture of her from the movie I could find but I'll keep looking, that's definitely her though and she's a much prettier brunette!
Watched Sunshine Cleaning over the weekend and I have to say the movie was heart breaking and disappointing! It had everything, all the elements were there but it just wasn't as brilliant as it could have been. the characters were well developed and I thought both Amy Adams and especially Emily Blunt gave very emotional performances! It was the storyline, it took it somewhere and then left it there. It could have been 10x better. I'll watch it again probably but it'll let me down every time!
I also went to Metamora, Indiana this weekend and had a lovely time! I bought a little wooden grounding bowl and a fairy riding a dragon designed wind chime, I also took loads of pictures I still have to go over and then I'll post my favorites.
I love the song in the trailer for Gamer... recognize the song?
